The Short Circuit

Alpha has short cooldowns and enormous base damage, making her a fantastic hero to build the classic Aftershock + Broken Myth combo on. Alpha is mostly played in the jungle.

Start Alpha with her Core Charge for jungle clear, and overdrive this first. Max out her Termination Protocol if you can land the massive damage, but if you can’t, it’s advisable to overdrive Prime Directive for long range re-engagements and repeatable burst.

Core Items

aftershockbroken-myth

The core of this build is Aftershock and Broken Myth. Rush Aftershock for 15% health damage against enemies every time you activate a skill, then build Broken Myth to increase Aftershock’s damage as well as Alpha’s base damage.

War Treads grant Alpha extra defense while allowing her to bring in team into or out of fights. Atlas Pauldron is typically a great choice against enemy heroes that rely on auto-attacks for damage output, such as Ringo, Glaive, Krul, Rona, Blackfeather, etc. Fountain of Renewal and Aegis are good choices against teams with heavy crystal damage. Aegis is great against Celeste, who can stun enemies as a self-peel, and Fountain of Renewal is great for adding team sustain. If you don’t need the defense, Clockwork can be a great item for even further decreasing your cooldowns.

The Headhunter

Gap-closers, basic-attack resets, and a killer passive allow Alpha to mercilessly chase targets when building Weapon. Alpha is typically played in the Jungle.

Alpha needs to start her Core Charge in order to clear Jungle quickly, and should overdrive that ability first for increased scaling and quicker basic attack resets. WP Alpha typically uses her Termination Protocol to escape danger or survive long enough to secure the kill, so there’s no need to upgrade this to its third rank.

Core Items

swift-shooterlight-shieldlight-armor    sorrowbladebreaking-point

This build relies primarily upon Alpha’s base damage through the early game. Start with Swift Shooter for your Jungle clear, then invest heavily in defense. Work towards a Sorrowblade, then round out your build with a Breaking Point (or Bonesaw, sometimes both) to allow Alpha to continually ramp up as the fight pulls onwards.

As Needed

War Treads provide decent HP to keep Alpha in the fight, while the active allows her to bring the whole team crashing down upon her targets. Aegis and Atlas Pauldron are great for extending the time before Alpha needs to use her passive. When in the lead and being aggressive, a Bonesaw or Tyrant’s Monocle are good options to push Alpha into maximum overdrive.
