The Anklebiter

Petal works best as a CP carry because the damage from her munions scales fantastically with Crystal Power, as does the heal that she provides her teammates with her ult. Currently, she is most effective in jungle.

Petal has to start her A, Brambleboom Seeds, at level 1. Tough luck. Petal’s B, Trampoline, is very useful, but skip its overdrive to benefit you the best. Petal players continue to overdrive her Munions and max out Spontaneous Combustion to achieve maximum damage potential.

On Petal, you typically want to maximize the amount of Crystal Power you can get in the early-game. Typically you’ll start out with triple Crystal Bits with boots to really leverage the scaling on her pets. You can build into either a Frostburn or Shatterglass as a first item – Frostburn is the more popular choice, but I’d recommend going Shatterglass first if you don’t need the slow from Frostburn quite yet. If you built a Shatterglass first, I’d recommend going for a Broken Myth, but if you didn’t, you’ll want to build a Shatterglass, because the munions’ defensive stats scale with Crystal Power. The final item will be whichever of the three you haven’t built yet.

If you find yourself in a game where your munions really aren’t surviving in teamfights, Alternating Current is a good item to add a decent amount of damage that doesn’t come from your munions. Defensive items and boots should obviously be built as needed.

Flora Destroya

Petal takes aggression to the next level with this powerful proc build, which is an excellent counter to short range and melee Heroes. This build is best used in the Jungle.

Petal has to start her A, Brambleboom Seeds, at level 1. While this build focuses more on procs and kiting, Petal will still be reliant upon her Munions throughout the early game, so max her A ability first. Finally, max out Spontaneous Combustion for maximum ult damage and the extra base heal.

Core Items

Petal rushes a few Crystal Bits during the early game to maximize her Munions’ defenses and harass. She then works towards an Alternating Current to add the powerful proc to her arsenal of Crystal damage. Petal will generally want to pick up some defenses (we suggest Reflex Block) as she works towards Broken Myth, and will typically finish off defenses after completing her core build.

Journey Boots take Petal’s insane ability to pursue targets to the next level, making them a great choice later on in the game. Petal can often build a Fountain, Crucible, or both for her team as she’ll be well positioned to make use of these items. When playing as a more standard carry, Petal should build more conventional defenses. Petal may add a Shatterglass if she really feels like bringing the pain.
