The past week has seen a couple exciting milestones reached for Vainglory and its community, a sneak preview for “Something long-awaited”, a hotfix for update 1.23 and the start of Split 2 in the EVIL 8 Series.

1.24 hero teaser:

SEMC has released a video on twitter, featuring a 1.24 hero teaser. From the video it can be reasonably inferred that the hero features stealth capabilities. Keep checking in for more details regarding the hero.

1.24 skin; taka tier III:

Semc had released a sneak preview of “something long-awaited”, Taka’s Tier III skin. They then one-upped that with in-game footage of the skin, the Lore and all the special effects. Save up your essence or ICE ’cause you’ll be wanting this skin bad!taka_tier3_splashart_1000w

world’s tickets:

The tickets to the first ever Vainglory World’s Championship are now on sale. The world’s 12 best teams will compete for the highest honor in Vainglory esports at the landmark TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood from December 2-4. Kids under the age of 10 are allowed free entrance. Anyone else, be sure to grab a couple of tickets to watch what’s sure to be an amazing event.

Rumblysuperset, a long time favorite for Vainglory content on YouTube has reached the milestone of 300,000 subscribers. Give his channel a look and show him some love.

1.23 hotfix:

Update 1.23 has seen a server sided Hotfix to balance out an abnormally strong Kestrel and Vox. Also fixed was Skye who’s Target Lock was revealing stealth heroes like Taka. The full details of the Hotfix can be read on the VaingloryGame forums.

series 1 – g2.esports vs team secret

The series started out with a game massively favoring G2. A season or two ago, this would’ve been unthinkable but G2 were picking up kill after kill, no problem. They had a quick 12 minute game with a massive 12 kill lead. The addition of Hundor with Reddix moving over to Roam seemed like the best decision G2 could’ve made. The second game started slightly more in the way of Team Secret. They had were up 3 kills to none in the 9th minute. They got a 2 for one trade in their favor in the 10th minute. They didn’t get anything from it. By the 15th minute, TS were up by 6 kills and turret. With G2 nowhere near, TS went ahead and picked up Kraken. TS got two kills during the push allowing them to get the win with the push. The third game seemed more even than the past two. Around the 9th minute, though, TS started to pull ahead. They got a series of kills and a gold mine in the 10th minute. TS had a 2k gold lead by this point. In the 16th minute, TS got an ace with some huge damage from Reim and Vox. G2 had tried to force a fight which went badly for them. TS got Kraken afterwards. TS got a kill on DarkPotato early on during the push. This allowed them to pressure the rest of G2 while also pushing the turrets down quickly. They got the win with the push.

series 2 – gankstars cerberus vs rising lotus:

The first half of the series opener wasn’t streamed. By the 13th minute, the teams were more or less even with only one kill holding Rising Lotus above GSC. In what as probably the closest fight of the series, KeanuNakoa was able to get a 1v2, nearly dying but coming out on top bu using Reflex Block to get the kill on TetnoJJ and the ace. He got a turret off the back of it. In the 18th minute, though GSC returned getting an ace of their own, this time keeping all their members alive. They got a turret and Kraken from it. They won with the push. At first glace, the second game seemed to be pretty even as well but thanks to superior farming, GSC had a 3.5k gold lead in the 16th minute of the second game. This was a sharp contrast to the kill score with GSC being favored by only 1. In the 16th minute, GSC got an ace after getting the kill on Loere early. They got Kraken and a turret from it. GSC gave up the ace during the push after a pretty close fight. They were still able to expose Rising Lotus’ crystal, though. In the 20th minute, GSC just straight up race to the crystal. The ult from Fortress on Nette delayed Rising Lotus from recalling, allowing GSC to take the win.

series 3 – Mousesports vs snow tsunami:

The game started out slightly in the favor of Snow Tsunami but with a 7 minute ace, Mousesports were able to turn things right back in their favor. They got a goldmine and Turret from it for a 2k gold lead. In the 15th minute, Mousesports burst down Kraken the moment it spawned. Mousesports so nearly got the win with the push but the crystal got through the push by the slightest margin. Mousesports tried to force a fight but ended up giving up the ace with some great kiting coming out from BongMaBu on Samuel. Tsunami picked up Kraken from it. Mousesports tried to go for the backdoor but Tsunami sniffed it out and caught Sn3aKy out, allowing them to continue to get the ace. They got three turrets from it. in the 21st minute, again, Sn3aKy tried going for the backdoor but seeing Tsunami recalling, Mousesports shifted thei attention to BongMaBu and got the kill. Being one up, Mousesports went ahead and got the crystal they had been fighting so long for. The second game also started out favoring Tsunami. This time, Tsunami managed to stay ahead and had a 3k, 5 kill lead by the 15th minute. magestiC was getting burst down way too fast. in the 16th minute, though, magestiC on the CP Ringo got a huge Hellfire brew on PTLam. Getting the quick kill on PTLam, Mousesports were able to get the ace for Kraken. Yet again, they got a kill on PTLam with another great Brew. They pushed till the final lane turret of Tsunami. In the 20th minute, BongMaBu was able to stay alive through a fight that seemed to be going way in the way of Mousesports. Tsunami were able to get the ace and Kraken. Tsunami got the ace during the push for the win. For a change, the third started out pretty even. The game went back and forth between the two teams with gold leads never exceeding 2k till the 15th minute. Mousesports were better with pressuring the lane, though. They had a two turret advantage before Kraken. In the 16th minute, Mousesports were able to get a kill  on Sosiska and got an uncontested Kraken. Mousesports got two kills during the push, pushing for the win and the series.

series 4 – snow avalanche vs sk gaming:

The first half of the game was not streamed but by the 17th minute, SK had a 4k gold lead but a kill lead of only 1. They had also pushed till the last crystal turret of Avalanche. The 18th minute saw a fight ridden with mistakes from both sides but Raph on the side of SK was able to clean up and get the ace and pushed for the win. SK Gaming were going off the beaten path, picking up a Dragonblood Contract in both games. SK picked up 3 kills early on in the game. By the 6th minute, SK had a 7 kill lead. The gold was dead even, though. They’d caught out the members of Avalanche on numerous occasions. SK also got a gold mine for a 1k gold lead. In the 14th minute, SK got the ace for the first turret. By this point. Avalanche still hadn’t managed to get their first kill. SK got another goldmine as well. SK got another 2 kills in the 16th minute. In the 28th minute, SK got a clean ace for another turret and Kraken. They only got one turret with the push. In the 21st minute, SK got a 2 for 1 trade and pushed. They got Kentysik during the push and destroyed the crystal for the win, so close to perfection.

series 1 – cloud 9 vs hammers velocity:

In the first game, Cloud 9 were able to put up a lot of early game pressure. They had gotten a turret and 4 kills by the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Cloud 9 simply burst down a turret with a Stormcrown into CP Taka and got the ace soon to follow. They got another turret from it. They had also gotten a goldmine earlier. All this amounted up to a 7k gold and 7 kill lead. They got another goldmine in the 13th minute. Cloud 9 got two kills in the 15th minute for Kraken. They got the win with the push. The second game was the near complete opposite. By the 5th minute, Velocity had a 6 kill lead to go with a 1k gold lead. Towards the mid-game, though, Cloud 9 were able to get a couple kills for themselves. In the 15th minute, Velocity got the first turret after getting three kills. This gave them a 3k gold lead. In the 17th minute, Cloud 9 got a favorable 2 for nothing trade and got Kraken from it. They got the ace during the push and actually pulled off a TSM special, taking all turrets with the one push.

series 2 – phoenix reign vs hammers kinetic:

Throughout the early half of the first game, Reign picked up a couple kills here and there with the early game prowess of Lance. The gold lead was next to nothing, though. In the 12th minute, though, Kinetic were able to burst down the first turret and pick up a kill of their own. This brought the gold lead up to 1k in their favor. Soon after, they picked up a goldmine and the 2nd turret for a 3k gold lead. in the 16th minute, Reign got a 2 for 1 trade for the first turret. They also picked up a clean ace in the 18th minute after a pretty bad fight from the side of Kinetic. CullTheMeek hadn’t even gotten a chance to use crucible of Fountain Of Renewal. Reign picked up Kraken with it. They pushed till the crystal turrets with Kraken. In the 22nd minute, Kinetic were able to turn things around with a great fight after getting an early kill on XenoTek. They got the ace and were able to push for the win. The second game ’round, Kinetic got a way better early game which wasn’t really the greatest news for Reign who were running a WP Taka. In the 9th minute, Reign got a 2 for nothing trade, though. In the 11th minute, after both members of his team fell, MICHSE sacrificed himself for the second turret, giving up the ace. They got a decent gold payout from it. In the 15th minute, Reign got yet another ace resulting in a turret Kraken being picked up for their side. They got another 3 turrets with the push. In the 18th minute, Reign got two kills and pushed down the last turret and got the kill on PONtheOriginal for the ace and finished the crystal for the win. The first game saw a lot of early aggression from both sides. The score was 4-3 in just 3 minutes with the advantage to Kinetic. By the 10th minute, though this increased to a 7 kill lead and  a 3,5k gold lead after Kinetic got a turret and goldmine. In the 13th minute, Kinetic got another 2 kills and a turret. In the 15th minute, Kinetic took Kraken. It was slightly contested but Reign couldn’t get the steal. They got two kills during the push and got the win.

series 3 – gankstars sirius vs ardent aurora:

The first game was pretty much not streamed, with the camera opening to the scene of GSS picking up a Kraken with a 9 kill and 6k gold lead. They got the ace during the push and got the win. The second game also started with domination by GSS. by the 7th minute, GSS were up 6 kills to nothing. They also got a goldmine for a 2.5k gold lead. In the 8th minute, Ardent got their first kill on Statusbaked with a great combo started with a great hook. By the 15th minute, both teams had taken down one turret, GSS were up by 5 kills and had a 3k gold lead. In the 16th minute, GSS got a 1 for 3 trade in their favor, getting two turrets from it. In the 17th minute, GSS got a clean ace and pushed for the win.

series 4 – team solomid vs fates zero:

Fates Zero is a new addition to the EVIL 8 series after knocking Nemesis Titan out of it in the Challenger battles last week. Going up against TSM, though gave them a bit of a challenge. VONC went for yet another odd build path with the WP Lyra. Even so, TSM were dominating the first game. By the 10 minute mark, TSM had a 9 kill and 4k gold lead. In the 12th minute, Fates Zero got a great fight, getting two kills for nothing. They gave up two kills immediately after, though and got the kill on joker for the ace. TSM got goldmine from it. In the 15th minute, TSM got another two kills and forced Eeko back to base. They got Kraken from it. TSM got the ace during the push and got the win. The second game saw VONC going for a relatively traditional CP Lyra. The kills in the early portion of the game were even with the kill score being 4-4 by the 7th minute. TSM had gotten a turret by this point, though. In the 8th minute, TSM tried taking goldmine but Fates Zero tried to contest. This ended up with all the carries falling and FlashX having to disengage. TSM got the ace in the 10th minute for the goldmine  TSM got a 2 for one trade after. TSM got another ace in the 15th minute for Kraken. TSM got the ace during the push and got the win.

series 1 – sk gaming vs team secret:

The first game started out rather slow. TS had the slightest of leads, though. Even by the 12th minute, leads didn’t get anywhere near insurmountable. In the 13th minute, TS got a goldmine for a 1.5k gold lead. TS were able to get the first turret after getting SK low. They got two kills in the 16th minute and got Kraken after. They got all but the crystal with the push with SK get 2 kill during. In the 20th minute, a team fight broke out in which SK were able to get the kill on KValafar pretty early. They turned this into a clean ace. They got a turret and Kraken from it. They got two more turrets from the push. In a fight that followed, TS got two kills and used the opportunity to take the crystal for the win. The next game was pretty dominating by TS. Though they weren’t getting many kills, They kept SK from getting any farm and got a couple gold mines as well. In the 14th minute, TS got 3 kills allowing them to get the third turret. They immediately went and got themselves Kraken. They also got two kills when this was contested by SK> TS pushed and got the win.

series 2 – mousesports vs gankstars cerberus:

The first game started out with Mousesports getting a couple of early kills. They were up 5 kills to nothing in 5 minutes. The Lance, Blackfeather combo was doing work for Mousesports early. By the 11th minute, though GSC had gotten three kills of their own. The gold was dead even at this point. GSC got a goldmine in the 13th minute. Mousesports tried to return by getting the first turret but were forced to retreat with Sn3aKy and Emirking falling. Mousesports got the first turret in the 16th minute after getting an ace. In the 18th minute, Emirking got a great Impale on TetnoJJ and the rest was easy for Mousesports. They got the ace and Kraken. Mousesports got yet another ace after allowing them to take the win. L3oNLioN subbed in for nettetoilette for the second game. This time around, GSC were dominating from the get-go. By the 12th minute, GSC had 17 kill lead and a 6k gold lead. In the 15th minute, GSC started out Kraken and they got it uncontested. GSC got the ace during the push and won with it. Not really much of a change but for the third game, L3oN’s IGN was back to L3oN from L3oNLioN. The early game saw a lot of great aggression coming in from GSC. TetnoJJ was doing great with WP Taka and IraqiZorro was landing core collapses right on. In just 3 minutes, they got a 2k gold lead. As the early game progressed, though, Mousesports started to chip away at the lead, getting a couple kills of their own. GSC got the first kill after getting a kill on majestiC in lane. By the 15th minute, GSC had gotten another turret and had brought their gold lead up to 7k. They also had a 4 kill lead. They tried taking Kraken and when Mousesports contested, they engaged Mousesports for the ace. Instead of going back to Kraken, they went for the straight up push and won the game.

series 3 – mousesports vs sk gaming (3rd place match):

The first game started out rather even. Both teams got their fair share of kills in the early part. In the 7th minute, the gold lead was only 500 in the favor of Mousesports. At this point, SK burst down and got goldmine without any contest. In the 9th minute, Mousesports got a great ace with Emirking getting an awesome blid impale to close it out. They got a turret from it but SK came back and got two kills of their own for a turret of their own. In the 11th minute, Mousesports jumped on Aidslip for the kill and got goldmine after. The gold lead was now 2k in favor of Mousesports. In the 16th minute, Mousesports went deep in SK’s jungle and SK took the opportunity to siege the next turret. When Mousesports rotated up, Emirking missed his impale and SK got a great fight for the ace. In the 17th minute, SK tried to get another engage but it ended up hitting back with Sn3aky getting a huge Red Mist. Mousesports got the ace for a turret an Kraken. Mousesports got two kills during the push and got the win. The next game wasn’t streamed but was won by SK. The third game was won by Mousesports.

series 4 – team secret vs gankstars cerberus:

The first game started out rather slowly. Other than the one kill for Team Secret, the game was dead even. In the 9th minute, though, Palmatoro got a huge impale on IraqiZorro which lead to him instantly going down. They also got the kill on L3oN and took the opportunity to get gold mine. TS started to pull ahead as the game progressed, building up a 1k gold lead by the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, GSC got a kill on Mowglie with a great forced accord. L3oN then got a double quibble allowing GSC to get the ace. They then pushed down the first turret and a goldmine. In the 15th minute, TS got a kill on L3oN and forced IraqiZorro back to base. They got a turret from it. in the 18th minute, TS started out Kraken which GSC contested. When TS engaged, GSC were able to come back in a fight where they were all low and get two kills on TS, losing none. They took Kraken from it. GSC pushed till the last crystal turret with it. In the 21st minute, GSC got a great pull on Palmatoro across the Goldmine pit and got the kill. They then got the kill on Mowglie. KValafar however was able to escape, also getting the kill on TetnoJJ who was rather low. Afterwards, TS got the Kraken with no contest.  During the push though, GSC got a quick kill on Mowglie and ended up getting the ace. Ignoring Kraken, they went to TS’s base and finished the game. The second game also didn’t see many kills early with TS having a lone kill from picking up IraqiZorro who was snooping round in their jungle. Other than that, the game was very even with little to no gold difference. in the 9th minute, TS were slightly badly positioned and GSC capitalized, getting a goldmine. This gave them a near 1k gold lead. In the 14th minute, GSC were able to pick up a goldmine and when TS engaged after, GSC were able to get the ace with a huge Oblivion from IraqiZorro. They got the first turret from it. By this point, they had a 4k gold and 6 kill lead. They pressured lane in the 15th minute for the second turret. In the 16th minute, though, The CP Vox payed dividends getting GSC really low really quick. They got the ace in a 1 for 3 trade and got Kraken from it.  TS only got one turret from the push when GSC pushed TS back to base. In the 18th minute, GSC got an ace with a huge gank on TS in the Jungle. L3oN got some huge Gythian Walls during the fight as well. . They pushed and got the win.

series 1 – team solomid vs cloud 9:

In the first game, VONC went for WP Samuel again. The early game saw a lot of action. VONC kept stealing away Cloud 9’s jungle camps. In the 4th minute, Cloud 9 went ahead and took the first turret when VONC was in their jungle. TSM got two kills in the process and got a turret of their own. By then, TSM had a 1k gold lead  and a 1 kill lead. in the 9th minute, TSM got a goldmine which was slightly contested. They tried to force a fight after but VONC got caught up in the ‘From Hell’s Heart’ from iLoveJoseph and Core Collapse right after which lead to him falling early. After that, Cloud 9 were able to pick up FlashX as well. By the 14th minute, the kills had evened out at 8 apiece but TSM were 2k ahead in gold. In the 16th minute, a fight broke out and again, VONC fell incredibly early. They also got the kill on FlashX. They then went to get Kraken and unleashed it. Cloud 9 did give up two kills to TSM during the push and they only got 1 turret from it. At the 19th minute, too, the kills were even but TSM had a 3k gold lead. In the 20th minute, Cloud 9 got a kill on VONC and got Kraken after it. In the fight that followed, Cloud 9 got aced after getting a little greedy. Again, they only got one turret from the push. In the 23rd minute, Cloud 9 got yet another to kills on FlashX and VONC. In the 25th minute, BestChuckNA brought out an amazing triple kill getting them the ace they really needed. BestChuckNA pushed till the crystal turrets while the rest of TSM unleashed Kraken. During the push, though, Cloud 9 got two kills after TSM over committed, This meant TSM could only get 1 turret from the push. In the 29th minute, Cloud 9 got two kills, this time on VONC and BestChuckNA. Hardek had a huge Solar Storm that absolutely melted BestChuckNA. During the push, Hardek and LostBoyToph fell. TSM tried to go straight to Cloud 9’s base to end the game but iLoveJoseph back-doored with Kraken. He ended up falling but stalled the game out a little bit. Cloud 9 nearly had a successful defense on the crystal but the damage from VONC was too high and TSM got the win. The second game had a lot of early aggression with each team getting quite a few kills. By the 6th minute, the kill score was 5-7 in favor of TSM. The gold was pretty even though. In the 7th minute, TSM got an ace in the lane. They then went and took the first turret. In the 9th minute, TSM got yet another ace but very nearly gave up the ace themselves. This kept them from getting anything more from it. In the 11th minute, TSM got yet another ace for the second turret. They got a goldmine in the 12th minute. By this point, TSM had a 3k gold and 9 kill lead. Immediately after, TSM engaged and got another two kills. In the 16th minute, TSM got Kraken without any contest. During the push, Cloud 9 forced TSM back to their base after getting a kill and made sure TSM could only get one turret from the push. In the 19th minute, Cloud 9 finally got an ace when VONC got stunned up and fell over. Cloud 9 got Kraken and a turret. TSM got two kills during the push. Cloud 9 only got one turret from it. In the 22nd minute, TSM turned a really long fight into an ace with some really good plays from all members. TSM went ahead and took the crystal for the win.

series 2 – kinetic vs gankstars sirius:

The first game went to the favor of GSS early. They were doing a great job counter farming and got a couple kills as well. They still lost out a bit on the Jungle Farm with the WP Taka from Kinetic farming slightly better. By the 7th minute, GSS had a 4 kill lead but the gold was even. They did gt a goldmine, though, which gave them the slightest of leads. In the 13th minute, GSS were able to get an ace uder the turret of Kinetic. They used it to get two turrets, leaving only the crystal turrets. They had a 4k gold lead by this point. This went up to 6k by the 15th minute. After getting some Poke onto PONTheOriginal, GSS decided to take Kraken, seeing that Kinetic had recalled. After taking down MICSHE, GSS got the win in a dominating game. In the second game too, GSS were very dominating. They were getting kill after kill. By the tenth minute, they had an 8 kill lead. They also had a 3k gold lead. The gold lead wasn’t insurmountable but GSS were consistently winning out each fight. GSS got an ace in the 14th minute and got their first turret.  They didn’t stop there and took yet another turret. They got another clean ace in the 16th minute for another turret and Kraken. They got two kills during the push and got the win.

series 3 – cloud 9 vs kinetic (third place match):

The first game started out very even. Only one kill separated the two teams at the 5th minute. The gold was also very even. Cloud 9 started to pull ahead every so slightly, though. CullTheMeek on Ardan was doing some work, often cleaning up for a kill or two after his teammates fell. In the 8th minute, though, Kinetic got two kills for the first turret. In the 10th minute, Kinetic got a kill on Hardek. they got goldmine after. Again in the 11th minute, with a huge Solar Storm, Kinetic got the kill on Hardek and got the second turret. By then, Kinetic had gotten a 4k gold lead. The kill score was even, though. In the 15th minute, Kinetic got a very clean ace with a very good Gauntlet and some huge damage coming in, taking Hardek down almost immediately. They got another turret and Kraken from it. Kinetic got the ace during the push for the win. The next game wasn’t streamed but was won by Cloud 9 and the third and final game was won by Kinetic.

series 4 – team solomid vs ganstars sirius (finals):

The early game started out with a couple of early kills going over to GSS. VONC was going for his WP Lyra again. By the third minute, GSS had a slight gold lead. In the 6th minute, they got the goldmine. In the 11th minute, GSS put some great pressure in lane and got a kill along with the first turret. In the 13th minute, GsS started out goldmine and TSM Tried to contest but GSS engaged, getting the ace.  They got goldmine and the second from it. By now, they had a 6k gold lead by that point. In the 15th minute, GsS caught VONC out near Kraken and got the kill on him. They then got Kraken. They got all except the crystal with the push after being forced to retreat. They started out Kraken later and TSM tried to contest but GSS engaged and got the ace. They went ahead and finished the game to put them up 1-0. The second game saw VONC on a way more meta CP Samuel. They were doing much better this game and more early kills went to TSM. In the 7th minute, they had a 4 kill lead. The gold was rather even though. By the 9th minute, though, they got a 7 kill lead and a 1k gold lead. By the 15th minute, TSM had gotten 2 turrets as well. In the 16th minute, TSM got Kraken with little to no contest. They got two kills during the push and pushed all the way till the crystal. In the 19th minute, GSS turned things around getting an ace for themselves in lane with Oldskool getting a triple kill. They got two turrets from it. In the 23rd minute, GSS got a Kraken without much contest. In the fight that followed, GSS got an ace with a huge Solar Storm and succeeded with the comeback and got the win.
