VGL North America Quarterfinals Preview

The excitement is building in the North American VGL as the remaining eight teams form our last three rounds. From Cinderella stories to airport heroics to house-hold names, this tournament has been getting better and better with each round.

Before these final rounds take place, BrokenMyth wanted to give you an inside look at some of the key teams and matchups. Here are the matches scheduled for this Saturday. The game times below are all PM EDT.

The two highest Elo games are GankStars Cerberus vs Nemesis, and Ardent Alliance vs Team Rin. These are the featured matches that we think you should watch!

Gankstars Cerberus vs nemesis

Screen Shot 2015-09-28 at 3.45.35 PM

GankStars has the wily old talent of FooJee and ROAM, while Nemesis is relying on the carry potential of Hardek, the only pre-season Vainglorious Gold in Nemesis. LostBoyToph is also considered one of the strongest support mains in NA, and has multiple accounts in some of the highest tiers. This will be an interesting match as FooJee is the former teammate of both Hardek and LostBoyToph. Will this knowledge be an advantage for Gankstars? Will the history between these players change the strategy chosen headed into these matches? We’ll have to watch and see on Saturday. My prediction: Nemesis with the upset.

Ardent Alliance vs team rin

Screen Shot 2015-09-28 at 3.38.28 PM

Ardent Alliance brings a powerhouse lineup of some of the most talented and experienced players. MICSHE, who recently finished the pre-season as Vainglorious Gold, excels in lane with Vox. FlashX brings over a year of experience as a support main. Together, they are facing off against Team Rin, a compilation of players from GankStars, Halcyon Hammers and, surprisingly, Ardent.  HardCarrying, of Gankstars, is also a Vainglorious Gold laner who made a name for himself with his Vox play. XenoTek of Halcyon Hammers, a former League of Legends Diamond 1 player, brings his vast MOBA experience and is one of the best all around players. Who will win in this match up of guild on guild? Will ShinKaigan make another special airport appearance? I’m not biased at all, but I’m 100% sure a team with Ardent members will win this match. Real prediction: Ardent Alliance takes it.

Be sure to check out the other highly anticipated matches below as well!
