East Asia played their second split in the Vainglory 8 Spring Season last week, and we saw some fantastic play! As week three approaches, Broken Myth has the recap you need of last week’s play and what to look forward to in EA Vainglory 8 this week. Let’s begin the breakdown!
Matches To Look Forward To
Vainglory 8 Spring Season: EA Split 1 Week 2 Day 1 (Replay)
Vainglory 8 Spring Season: EA Split 1 Week 2 Day 2 (Replay)
Invincible Armada lIves up to their name having not lost a single match this split. Invincible Armada won 2-0 against every team on their side of the bracket this week. Expect to see them in grand finals once again unless a surprise upset takes place.
Detonation Gaming will face GG Newtype 2nd for the first time this week. Detonation seems to heavily prefer Vox in Land and Samuel in the Jungle. Watch to see if they pull out new or surprising picks to take down the currently 2nd ranked GG Newtype 2nd.
Hack, 2016 World Championship participants, showed they earned that spot last year. While currently ranked 7th, they almost took out Ace Gaming last week in a hotly contest match that went to game three. If they place a solid performance against pQq, it may give them a chance to climb from the bottom rankings. Keep an eye here — Hack will bring everything they’ve got!
Heroes To Watch For
The meta still seems mostly centralized in EA. Ringo and Vox remain the most picked carries followed by Gwen and Kestrel, though the latter two are far less popular. Vox has become the third most banned character in EA as well. By far, Samuel and Koshka remain the most popular Jungle picks in the region. Adagio and Lance were shown as the most popular Captains once again this week. However, Ardan has become somewhat of a priority pick, rivaling the two in selection rates.
Despite the meta in EA seeming locked in for the most part, many teams brought out surprises. Skaarf was seen both as a Carry and Jungler last week. Grumpjaw was picked twice and even banned once. Ozo, Krul and Reim were also chosen onice each as Junglers. These surprise picks are game definers in the EA meta, so keep a special look out for them.
Matches will begin this week at 5pm JST and will be aired on VaingloryKR’s Twitch with Korean commentary and on VaingloryJP’s OpenRec with Japanese commentary. Matches this week will still take place on Update 2.2. VODs of last week’s matches can also be found earlier in this post. Which match are you most excited to see? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll see you next week for another EA Vainglory 8 Update!
