Eve-Olution

Tapping into the Monkey King’s natural life stealing potential, this build focuses around a brawling crystal powered Ozo that can outlast puny humans, trolls, cats, undead cyborgs and whatever a Meeko is.

Crystal Ozo’s main source of damage is his Acrobounce, which should be his first overdrive. Then, overdrive Three-Ring Circus to achieve as much healing and damage as possible while Acrobounce is on cooldown. Consider taking the final point in Bangarang instead of Three-Ring Circus if you’re having trouble reaching the carry. After all, Ozo is a monkey!

Core Items

aftershockbroken-myth1

Building Aftershock first is vital due to the burst, cooldown, and base crystal power it provides. Purchase Broken Myth afterwards to ensure you’re dealing enough damage as the match progresses.

War Treads are the best option for boots on Ozo because of the high health they provide; Acrobounce and Bangarang combined already grant enough gap-closers. Eve of Harvest can be picked up if you find the defense you’ve acquired is too much in comparison to your damage output. Fountain of Renewal synergizes well with Ozo’s perk, healing him for extra health. Defense is obvious – build what you need. Keep in mind Ozo is intended to be played as a tanky bruiser, meaning he should build lots of defense!

The Lord of the Ring

This build capitalizes on Ozo’s heroic perk, which gives him insane sustain capabilities.

Three-Ring Circus is the main source of Ozo’s damage, so it’s important to max it out first to lower its cooldown as well as increase the healing and base damage on it. After that, you’ll want to max Bangarang for the shorter cooldown. If you find that two points are enough to always have Bangarang up when you need it, then maxing Acrobounce over Bangarang is also an option.

Core Items

serpent-maskfountain-of-renewalsorrowbladeblazing-salvo

Start Ozo out by rushing a Serpent Mask. The lifesteal on this item synergizes greatly with Ozo’s heroic perk, which increases the life regeneration from heals and lifesteal. Build a Blazing Salvo along the way for attack speed. After finishing the Serpent Mask, build Fountain of Renewal – this item has fantastic team utility with its heal, and, once again, it synergizes very well with Ozo’s heroic perk. After finishing the Fountain, build a Sorrowblade for additional Weapon Power and damage.

As Needed

Boots are obvious – get Tier 1 boots early! Situational items include Shiversteel to help peel for your allies (especially against mobile melees such as Taka, Rona, and Koshka) or prevent enemies from escaping. Atlas Pauldron is good for countering high attack speed heroes such as Glaive, Krul, Rona, Ringo, and Blackfeather. Aegis is great if you need extra shield to protect against crystal damage. The two main options to finish the Blazing Salvo into are Bonesaw and Breaking Point – Bonesaw works very well against heroes who have built lots of armor, and Breaking Point can stack up quickly with the AoE (area of effect) damage on Three-Ring Circus.
