The Troll Toll

Phinn is mostly used as a tanky roam hero that excels in protecting his teammates as an unmovable wall. There’s usually only one viable build with situational replacements for support heroes.

This river troll bites hard. Starting his A, Quibble, gives him fantastic base damage in the early levels. Because its overdrive effective is so useful, you’ll want to max Quibble out first to turn its slow into a stun. Max out his ultimate, Forced Accord, for more pulls than ever. Some players prefer maxing Polite Company instead of Forced Accord; this is up to personal preference.

Core Items

fountain-of-renewalcruciblestormcrown

Most of the time, supports should always rush Fountain of Renewal first since it provides you with shield, health, and team-wide healing. Next, purchase Crucible for the team reflex block and the extra health. Stormcrown provides Phinn with top-tier cooldown speeds, extra health, and consistent damage.

As Needed

War Treads are typical to build on supports, and especially important on Phinn due to its bonus health. Consider purchasing an Atlas Pauldron if you’re against a hero that relies on attack speed such as SAW, Ringo, or Krul. Broken Myth can be used to increase the already massive base damage on Phinn’s Quibble, and Clockwork can reduce the cooldowns on all his skills. Aftershock may be good to build instead of Clockwork if you’re against enemies with high health.
