Vainglory Update 3.3
Update 3.3 went live this week, bringing the new hero Kensei, early forms of voice chat & optional joystick controls, and a bundle of balance changes. Four skins were also added: ‘Tea Party’ Grace (Legendary), ‘Netherknight’ Reza, ‘Taizen Boss’ Kensei (Rare), and ‘Origins’ Idris (Special Edition).
Update 3.4 and Beyond Mini-Roadmap
SEMC’s lead gameplay designer, Ciderhelm, took to Reddit to explain major additions to Vainglory in the near future. First, a Ranked leaderboard, which will be rolling out during the first few weeks of Update 3.3. Joystick controls and voice chat were also initially mentioned in the post. Starting in Update 3.4 for the Summer season, players will receive specific rewards based on their progress in Ranked mode. All players who reach tier 6 or above during the Spring season will receive an unannounced Ardan skin. By ranking up in the Summer season and beyond, you will also be able to unlock visual changes for the hero recall animation.
Reza Hero Spotlight & ‘Netherknight’ Skin (Epic)

In what seems like an ancient mystery solved, Reza (who released in Update 2.7) has finally received his official hero spotlight! It was explained on Twitter that Reza had a planned kit overhaul following his release, which did not leave SEMC with time to work on a representative spotlight. Additionally, Reza has received his second skin in the Epic ‘Netherknight’ Reza. Here are the highlights:
- Halo of the afflicted floats over his head
- Skin blackened by Netherfire
- Dark red ashy smoke effects
- Glowing effects from Netherfire crystal radiates through Reza’s body, halo & eyes
- Whispers, moans and shrieks of the dead are heard while using abilities
